Sarah Woodhead Bacon

Sarah Woodhead Bacon is a British-born conservation advocate and philanthropist dedicated to preserving biodiversity and protecting endangered species worldwide. Sarah worked as an advisor at SFG for 5 years before transitioning to a board member, so she has integral knowledge of our programs and how we work.

She co-founded the Leuser Ecosystem Action Fund (LEAF) in 2017, aiming to safeguard 2.4 million hectares of rainforest in Northern Sumatra—home to the last remaining orangutans, tigers, rhinos, and elephants in the region. As well as serving on the board of Space for Giants, she also serves the board of One Earth, a US based nonprofit providing a science based roadmap to solve the climate crisis through, she is a Director of the Bacon Foundation as well as an Ambassador for Journey’s With Purpose and Panama Wildlife Conservation.

Earlier in her career, she founded Woodhead Calliva, a public relations and events firm and later launched her own consultancy focusing on individual clients.

She is married to Louis Bacon, a fellow conservationist, and together, they are leading voices in advocating for wildlife conservation and the protection of biodiversity.
